The [Bay] Beach // The Great Outdoors

Today was the perfect day at the beach. Or rather, it would have been, if I hadn't told a friend that we were going to one beach and then went to a different one. I looked up directions on my phone en route and said, "Nah, that isn't the way to get there. I know how to get there." Oops. So sorry Brooke. :( Lets go again soon. Maybe I should follow you...My sister, kids and I piled into D's car with her kids, and they even got to watch Kung Fu Panda on the way there AND back. Lucky Marci squished in the back between two carseats! The kids loved the bay, the sand, the mini waves, and we had a nice, relaxed, sun filled day. A lovely Friday. And I'm guessing with about a week's worth of baths the sand will come out of Mr. L's hair. It is apparently quite fun to do somersaults into the water. Yesterday, my sister came over to finish a quilt (she just finished teaching school, and has a bit of a break before summer school starts. Its been too much fun!) She decided she wasn't in the mood to quilt, so she played with baby N and chatted with me while I finished a ton of projects (Mr. L was off on a world cup watching adventure with his uncle).  I finally finished this seersucker skirt for the 8!!! month old, from a pattern created by my talented friend Danelle. The waistband is a bit iffy, but that's my fault, not hers. I added a scallop stitch at the bottom, which is kind of sweet.  I love seersucker. I love coral. I love summer skirts. The end.
