100 Quilts: 2010

Aunt Spicy and I were thrilled to spearhead 100 Quilts for Christmas in November and December 2010. Our local guild, the DC Modern Quilt Guild, teamed up with a local LDS congregation to make and donate 43 baby and toddler size quilts to the Alexandria Office on Women.  We were inspired and impressed with the efforts and generosity of others, and were grateful to help harness the terrific potential for good in the online quilting community by encouraging quilters to make baby (or slightly bigger) quilts for children in their own communities. Overall, over 130 quilts were donated to children in need.


This year, we plan to give everyone more notice and start much earlier in the year, before time is filled with family, good food, travel, the holidays, and the general busyness of the last two months of the year. There were a few bumps in the road, for which I apologize.
