Jewel Tones--a finished quilt. I am so happy to have both started and finished this quilt... I've had the color scheme in my head for six months after seeing a streetscape in Metropolis magazine. I actually finished while it was still daylight, but I didn't think about the pouring rain this afternoon... problem. I finally pinned it to my garage and snapped some pictures under an umbrella. I'm going to hang it upstairs in my hallway for now. My favorite thing about this quilt (besides the color scheme) is the unexpected blocks that show up in the seemingly random design--a star, a pinwheel, an hourglass, a row of flying geese. It feels a bit like a hidden picture. Happy sewing, everyone. And happy birthday to my mom, tomorrow!
