Modern Mini Challenge!

Courthouse StepsMini Quilts--they are all over the internet! There is even a great flickr group devoted to mini's. Why make a mini? Sometimes, it's fun to practice a new skill. Sometimes, your daughter might use an old ugly towel for her baby's blanket and you decide that she needs something a bit snazzier (true story). Maybe you start making blocks and decide that really, you don't want to make 16 more, so you turn it into a mini.

Maybe, you want a chance to win a FQ BUNDLE OF FLEA MARKET FANCY! Yep, that's right! I'm sure by now you have heard about the Modern Mini Challenge at Ellison Lane Quilts!
Modern Mini Challenge
The lovely Jennifer is hosting a Modern Mini challenge--make a mini and enter it on March 5 on her blog. Be inspired to try something new or something challenging!  There are 5 different winners--my favorite is that her husband, James, is choosing one of the winners. Wild card!

Contest Rules:
1. Create a modern mini quilt or mug rug - only one entry per person
2. Enter your mini quilt or mug rug in the linky party at Ellison Lane Quilts on Monday, March 5.
You do NOT have to have a blog to enter. You may link a picture from your Flickr account.
3. Your entry (blog post or Flickr description) should include the size of the item

The (5) Winners
James' Choice
Viewer's Choice: Mug rugs (mini mini's)
Viewer's Choice: Mini Quilts
Luck of the draw (Random Number Generator chooses 2 winners)

Prizes!
Both Viewer's Choice Winners will receive a fat quarter bundle of the FULL Line of Flea Market Fancy reprint by Denyse Schmidt. No joke.
James’ Choice Winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop
Both Luck of the Draw Winners will receive a $75 gift certificate to Fat Quarter Shop

That is some serious fabric goodness. I'm excited that Jennifer has asked me to make and share a mini... and I'm going to be tricky. I'm hoping to make a mini (to share!) out of a block I have coming out in a magazine and also use it for the Tangerine Tango Challenge. That may be over-ambitious, we shall see.

Here is a great list of quilters who will be participating in the blog hop! I get to enter a mini-I hope you will too!
