what a wonderful shop! i like the vintage spools.
Are you looking for stocking stuffers for friends and family? What about small gifts for sewing buddies, teachers, and neighbors? Would you like to include something handmade but might not have the time (or energy) to make it yourself?

I have a giveaway today that I think you are going to love (and will solve this dilemma!) Notethreads is a new shop that sells handmade notepads and notecards.  Notethreads is run by my sister-in-law Samantha Blakesley (maker of beautiful & Salt Lake MQG award-winning quilts)--she sent me a few vintage spool notepads for my birthday last year, and they have been one of my all-time favorite gifts. If we have swapped bee blocks or fabric, you probably received a note on one J

Now for the giveaway! 3 winners will receive their favorite notepad and notecard set. Just visit Notethreads and leave a comment here for a chance to win. If you want, let me know what your go-to stocking stuffer is! I’ll pick three winners on Friday night (December 9).

Can't wait? Notethreads is offering a special coupon code—use SWIMBIKEQUILT for free shipping until December 31, 2011. As a bonus, with the coupon, you get a free sample size notepad when you order notecards, or two free notecards if you order a notepad (using the code). Did you see the golfer & baseball player notepads? Perfect for that hard to buy for man in your life. What are you waiting for?!  Happy shopping :)

Note: I received no compensation for this post, unless a fluffier air mattress the next time we visit counts :) I have been telling Sam she should sell her notepads for months, so I'm thrilled to see her shop up and running! I hope patterns are next :)

  6. Wow! Those are SO cute!! I love the Fall flowers fabric!! SOOOO CUTE!! Thanks for the giveaway!!

My go to stocking stuffers are Pez dispensers. Always a hit! Although, last year I had an address stamp made for my daughter, with her name, in red ink - and that was the hit of Christmas. It was different, but SO fun! She still loves it!

  9. Love the notecards. The Spring flowers and the wave were my favorites, so many cute ones. My go to stuffer is chapstick (I have 4 girls) and there are so many different kinds, really needed here in the cold windy midwest.

  17. So cute! I love the waves notecards. I don't have a "go-to" stocking stuffer but I remember the one from childhood that I thought was ridiculous: the giant candy cane stick. That thing was about a foot long (no hook at the top) and a couple inches thick. The visiting Santa brought them. And we never touched them. :)

  33. Those as so darn cute! I tend to include a sewn/quilted card with my handmade gifts, so having a stash on hand (instead of making them on demand as I tend to do!) would be fab! Like Anita said above, the kiddles always get electric toothbrushes (and Tom's toothpaste) in their stockings. Santa appreciates clean teeth!

  37. Oh my gosh, these are great! These would be the kind of thing I would think I could attempt on my own, only to have sub par results. She does them so beautifully. What a great treat! Stocking stuffer? I buy chocolate. My husband buys lottery tickets. Not inspired, but now they're a tradition.
