Yesterday, I spent far too much time brooding over some articles I read online (don't even get me started about the comments.) Today, I decided to avoid everything that I knew would make me crazy (I am sure that my kids and husband will appreciate that!) and focus on happy things. So, here are three things that make me smile today:City Weekend by Leisl Gibson: I've been loving this fabric line lately, especially the yellows/aquas/reds. I got a call from my mother-in-law at the tent sale Saturday; she asked me to pick out a charm pack and some coordinating quarter yards to make some skirts for her granddaughters. I think this will make some great summer skirts!
Swimming: It has been fun to watch my son re-learn to swim the last few weeks... I think he might be a backstroker like his mom and aunts! And I've been doing a little more lap swimming in preparation for the
100 Quilts: Last, but certainly not least, I know of at least two quilts that are done and ready to be donated (in a few months) for the 100 Quilts for Kids project!!!!!! Dara blogged about one here and Dana gave me one on Saturday at the tent sale. Both were long armed by these quilters--thanks, ladies!
Happy sewing, happy swimming.

That is a great focus - happy things and happy fabrics!!!
ReplyDeleteI share the 'talent' for dwelling on the negative. Lousy habit that's hard to fight. Anyway, you reminded me that some friends of mine, whose last name is Doom, named their cats Certain and Impending. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Get rid of unhappy thoughts and focus on things that make you happy! Funny I had to run today because of that!! :)
ReplyDeleteCertain and Impending Doom by Holly U is the funniest comment I have ever read on a blog!!!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I LOVE the fabrics for the skirts. Thank you so much. Mama Jane
