At Quilt Market, I received two fat quarters of Jennifer Paganelli's Honey Child, and wanted to use them to make a pouch for a friend who loves JP. I met Jennifer briefly at market, and was so happy for the chance to thank her in person--last fall, she gave tons of fabric to her good friend Nancy as part of a fabulous group charity quilting effort. The quilts were donated as part of 100 Quilts for Christmas.
Anyway, this is what I came up with. I lined the pouch with something I love--Erin McMorris' Go by Bike print. I hope my friend likes it. I really want to make a quilt in this color scheme--perhaps as part of Elizabeth's quilt along...
And I wanted to let any local friends know that Del Ray Fabrics is having a huge tent sale tomorrow (Saturday the 18th) from 10-2. There are tons of great deals on pre-cuts, yardage, bundles, whole bins of stuff I would love to snatch up at $5-$7 a yard (tons of Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, Lizzy House, American Jane, Sandy Gervais, Urban Chiks, Kaffe Fasset, the list goes on and on), and then some great newer fabric (Loulouthi, Echino, Cloud 9, Cut out & Keep, Prince Charming, laminates, etc). at good prices.
Note: I did not receive any benefit, financial or otherwise, from letting you know about the Del Ray sale--I just wanted to pass the news on to my fabric-loving friends)
